Win A Pair Of Tickets To See 9-Time Grammy Winner José Feliciano On May 22

On Thursday, May 22, 2014, the Canadian Friends of Israel Guide Dog Center For The Blind will hold a benefit concert starring 9-time Grammy Award winner José Feliciano at the Toronto Centre for the Arts.
Sara Gabriel is a serious mover and shaker, Guide Dog fanatic and Executive Director of the Canadian Friends of Israel Guide Dog Center For The Blind. Her efforts have helped the organization raise over $1,000,000 in just the past five years. We invite you to speak with Sara regarding this miraculous and extensive Guide Dog program.
Labradors and Golden Retrievers are the dogs of choice because they are highly trainable, responsive, intelligent, and have calm temperaments. These dogs must learn discipline, but also lead happy, active lives. The training process involves hundreds of miles of walking, a lot of perseverance, and a ton of patience.
The Center began with just one objective – to help all blind citizens in Israel achieve independence and mobility through the use of guide dogs. The relationship that develops between human and guide dog, and the freedom afforded the blind person is immeasurable in terms of quality of life. The transition from puppy to guide dog is an eighteen-month process that costs over $25,000 per dog. The blind person receives the guide dog, instruction and regular home visits during the working life of the dog at no charge.

To win the pair of tickets, go to The Toronto Pet Daily Facebook page and share the top pinned post detailing the contest. The winner will be randomly selected on Monday, May 18.
