Today We Honour Our Veterans, Two Legged And Four.

Did you know that the federal government is denying funding for an animal war veterans monument? Considering over 40 000 dogs were killed fighting alongside allied forces in WWI alone (not to mention other animals such as horses), one would think the government would be willing to allocate the funds to support such a cause. Gander's story.

In WWII, Gander's final act of courage saved many lives. During a Japanese attack, Gander picked up a grenade that had landed next to his fellow soldiers and carried it away. He was killed instantly when it exploded.
