I met him 5 years ago when I was casually looking for a 3-legged orange cat. My mother and I were on our way out of Animal Services when "Fat Head" was carried into the cat room with a cast on his leg. I didn't notice him, my mother did. He looked at us, and gave the most pathetic "meow" ever. I was in love!
I called everyday for 4 weeks until the day he was being released back into gen pop (he was on the mend from a broken leg). I called into work and took the day off and went to claim what was meant to me mine ... Pickles.
At the time, I couldn't take him home because my rental unit didn't allow cats. So, for the first 3 weeks as my cat, Pickles stayed with friends of mine and won them over.
Pickles is now 10 and is happy as can be. He continues to charm the pants off of every person and animal. He is the king of seducing non-cat people.
PS - he thinks he's a dog.
|This is my baby Daphine...I rescued her from a store in my hometown. her mother was killed on the streets by a car and her, her brother and sister were left at a week old to die. I took them in and bottle fed them, I found the other two (plus 3 more) homes but I kepted her. She is almost 12 yrs old. In this picture you can see her graft on her eye, she had a corneal sequestrium and had to be repaired. This picture is pre-hematoma in her ear that now leaves her ear disfigured. I love her so much and would do anything for her and my 3 other cats I rescued from the streets.|
